Review of Persepolis (2007) by Joseph B — 25 Jul 2013
Wow, what can I say? I certainly don't think that for one second the highly stylised artistic animation sags. Moreover it's constantly surprising and constantly beautiful. An emotional smorgasbord, a bildungsroman of a movie, an eyeopening account of the life of a young woman's childhood in revolutionary Iran and adolescence in Vienna.
Endearing and stark, a must-watch social commentary with an intelligent and constantly hilarious protagonist. We need more films like this. Wonderful.
