Review of Persepolis (2007) by Remote G — 21 Jan 2011
I must admit, I knew very little of the Iranian revolution before seeing Persepolis, and I expected the film to be a somewhat documentary on that. Oh how I was delightfully wrong.
Yes, the film is insightfully informative, but combined with dark witty humor, and interesting scenarios, Persepolis is just the definition of interesting. Watching it, I felt it was a film I could relate to, not living through the war and revolution, but with the main character of Marjan herself, and her view and fiesty mindset on life in general. I thought the unusual monochrome animation definitley added extra bold depth to the movie on whole.
See it if you can.
