Review of Permanent Midnight (1998) by Rob — 19 Aug 2007
Stiller does a good job in a dramatic role. Read the book that this was based on, and which I think gives a much better idea of an addict's life than "Million Little Pieces." Hits most of the events in the book, like when Stiller's character steals random medicines out of his friend's drug cabinet to get a desperate high.
Many drug stories are about people without money, here the main character can afford it for a period of time. Book gives the impression Stahl started to go cold turkey because he couldn't get a fix during the L.
A. riots. Here it's a little different.
