Review of Perkins' 14 (2009) by Nate N — 19 Sep 2009
This reminds me of Resident Evil 4 (the video game). 14 kids were abducted & brainwashed as well as test subjects, like a virus compared to the one from Resident Evil, however it pretty much stops there. Nice horror, with psychotic super human people who are just nothing more then cannabalistic crazies.
However, this movie is either brilliant or horribly scripted. Most cheesy horror movies are written pretty badly depending on the writer. But, I hated the script. Yeah nice setting but I think all the characters in the movie were 'lost'. It's like omg what do I do, homicidal maniacs are crawling all over the place. Seriously? Sadly if this actually happened most people would be doing the same thing! This isn't like Jason or Freddy scaring you in your dreams, most people dont' even realize about that until its too late but im surprised that most of these people actually made it half way through the movie.
A lenghtly 1hr & 30 minutes of what you might call 24 hours none of these people would last 24 seconds. Staring at someone gettin eaten won't save you, run.. find a weapon & kill anything that doesn't act like a real human. Seriously, i've seen enough of 'these' horror movies. I wanna enjoy the horror while someone actually has brains lol. Maybe the zombies will start screaming 'brains' again. This movie is a good example of 'not what to do', 28 days & weeks later were better movies. However like I said the only redeeming quality of this movie is it definatly has horror & the psychotic killers concept was cool, but thats about it. (that deserves 2 stars alone).
(oh wait, that's all I gave, hahaha!).
