Review of Performance (1970) by Lala S — 27 Jan 2008
The film maker Donald Cammel was heavily influenced by the writer Borges and used his main thesis for the basis of this film, that is 'no one is substantially someone: anyone can be anyone else, at any moment of time' or 'Underneath our apparent differences we are archetypes, one person, nobody'.
Anita Pallenberg is brilliant and beautiful and seductive and provocative and perfect. You can see why the macho blues boys of the Stones were obsessed by her.
