Review of Performance. (1970) by Manny C — 02 Apr 2008
Warner Brothers thought they were getting a Rolling Stones equivalent of A Hard Day's Night, but instead they got a load of arty 60s (it was filmed in 1968) bollocks. Ever-so-posh James Fox plays a cockney gangster of the 'Shut your bloody hole you slag' variety, and doesn't really pull it off; Mick Jagger has a shag and a sing-song whilst inspiring Spinal Tap; and the audience either vomit or fall asleep.
Hedonistic nonsense.
