Review of Performance (1970) by Derek B — 01 Jun 2008
A film with a massive reputation that maybe doesn't quite deserve it. While I agree that it is interesting, and very well done, its often self-indulgent. It can meander around aimlessly for minutes at a time.
It's all very Jean Luc Godard, but in the worst sort of way (like Sympathy For The Devil for example). Definitely worth watching, but without the side-order of hyperbole.
