Review of Performance (1970) by Mark B — 24 Aug 2008
Even though questioning identity is so outmoded and not particularly interesting in this day and age, I still enjoyed this movie because its very well put together. normally the filming of a 'square' tricked into eating mushrooms (no matter if it went 'trippy' or comedic) would drive me up the wall, but this movie has enough sense to pull back a little on the reins of the sixties.
the first hour is better than anything guy ritchie could ever dream about and doesn't seem all that dated. if anything, amazing that it was made in the late 60's rather than the late 70's.
