Review of Performance. (1970) by Nat G — 24 Aug 2010
This is a strange one, and I don't really get it, although I do understand this a druggy film, and that's maybe why it's a tad weird. I think the plot is a little lame, and needs to be a little bit more focused, but for the most part this is a interesting film even if I don't understand it.
The shots are great, and the edits are brilliant, I love both scene's with Mick Jagger singing, they are almost like music video's, and the scene where he turns into the main gangster is a great bit of editing.
I also think the acting is very good, I don't really get the little girl, and what happens to her in the end, where is she? James Fox is very good, and he plays the role almost to perfection, Jagger is also good, but I don't know if his acting or if that's just him.
I think this film needs to be watched a few times before it starts to make any sense, and it's more of an art film, and if your ok with that you'll enjoy it, but for the normal film fan, I'd give it a miss.
