Review of Perfect Sense (2011) by Jenny H — 04 Jun 2012
A fair amount of this movie is centered around sex between the two main characters Michael and Susan. They have a nice meet-cute. But their relationship in general is not outstanding compared to others. I suppose that wasn't the point, but the cover makes it seem so. The summary doesn't describe the movie very well either. It centers around these two, yes, but the whole thing is that the entire world is losing all of their five senses in waves of different diseases. First smell, then taste and so on.
I think it's a pity because with the right take, this story could have been suspenseful, interesting, and all that. But there are long lingering moments that focus for much too long on the unimportant. No one seems to be trying to find a cure or a cause too much. There are no UN meetings or presidents fleeing in helicopters. It's just not that kind of movie.
All in all it was pretty much a waste of time.
