Review of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) by Murray S — 07 Aug 2012
A great film for audiences of all ages.
Percy Jackson is an average teenager who soon learns he is the son of Poseidon, now going to a camp for demigod children called Camp Half Blood along with his friend Grover (a centaur) and Annabeth (the daughter of Athena). Percy and his friends soon leave the camp to embark on an adventure to return a lightning staff to Zeus at the Empire State Building, where the gods live.
Such a great movie. I can't remember all the details of the films since I haven't seen it in such a long time but it was a great movie when as I remember it. Uma Thurman played Medusa well as well as all of the other actors like Brandon T. Jackson and Logan Lerman. I previously read the books before seeing the film and I also loved the books (I read the whole series, in fact). I remember being a huge Percy fan at the time and I still find it to be a great movie. I definitely suggest it for adults and kids, definitely worth seeing!
