They didn't make the Percy movie the way they should have, but it still tells a fun, entertaining enough story all its own. It's clear that Chris Columbus wasn't taking this series as seriously as Harry Potter.

Otherwise, he'd have paid attention to the ages of the characters and the problems that his late-teenage casting will create for the later movies.
