Review of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) by Skyler G — 05 Dec 2012
Action was good the movies tie in to the book was terrible doesn't follow the books storyline at all maybe with the Minotaur and medusa but NO WHERE in the book does it talk about the pearls of Persephone and they run into auntie em's on accident not on purpose.
Here is the things they missed from the book. Luke never gave percy the map to persephones pearls, Grover was supposed to wear the shoes becuase they were cursed to drag Percy to tartarus, There "epic" showdown with Luke never happened in the book at least not at Olympus.
The lightning bolt is not hidden in the shield. In the book Ares told them to go to some water park to get his shield and it was a trap meant for Ares set by Hephaestus for Aphrodite cheating on him with Ares and when they return Ares gives them the backpack with the double stuff oreos in it and containing the lightning bolt when Percy got to the underworld.
Percy is on Annabeth's team not Luke's. Overall for a director who created the epic Harry potter series... I expected more if he makes a movie out of the second book he should read the book series before he starts directing it.
LAZY move by him. READ THE BOOK SERIES!!
