Review of People Like Us (2012) by Michelle H — 13 Jun 2013
I get it. Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Olivia Wilde; I heard a lot of good things about this movie. Pine plays Sam, who's father passes away suddenly from cancer. Instead of leaving his son an inheritance, his father leaves him a task that connects him to a single mother who works in a bar.
The plot is very good and has a lot of potential if it was carried out correctly. Banks & Pine have great chemistry, awkwardly so, you want them to be together...and not in the way the movie wants you to.
The different plot threads made it very difficult to actually enjoy the film. Good scenes and decent dialogue. It just needed some work to be considered a "good" film.
