Review of People Like Us (2012) by Cuddly P — 19 Jun 2012
Surprisingly good -- got dragged to a screening by a friend -- it really exceeded my expectations. Who knew that Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks could play such deep characters? Very emotional (if a bit unrealistic in terms of Pine's character not 'fessing up sooner) -- Michelle Pfeiffer's performance was really breath-taking.
OH, and to the lady below who isn't going to see it because the "secret" is given away in the trailer ---- the "secret" happens very early on in the film. What the film is ABOUT is how the characters can connect and heal after the "secret" is revealed.
(heck "the secret" is even mentioned in the synopsis, etc.....so it's actually NOT A SECRET). I totally get it if you don't think this movie is for you, but to not see it just for that reason is lame.
