Review of Pentathlon (1994) by Allan C — 25 Mar 2017
If it worked for gymnastics in "Gymkata," why not make an action film about pentathletes. Dolph Lundgren plays an East German Olympic defector who has to use his pentathlon skills (fencing, shooting, swimming, riding, and cross-country running) to escape the repressive regime and later to fight off his evil ex-coach, David Soul, who has tracked him down in America working at a greasy spoon diner owned by Roger E.
Mosley. I did enjoy David Soul as the film's villain and it made wish he was in more stuff post-Starsky & Hutch, but overall this film is about what you would expect.
