Review of Penguins of Madagascar (2014) by Darren W — 31 Dec 2014
As with not all bout most of the Dreamworks animation cannon with the exception of the Shrek and now How to Train Your Dragon series, Penguins of Madagascar is passable and fun energetic child entertainment with some good humour to it, especially within the rapid fire delivery by the titular characters, even if a lot fo the jokes are spoiled within the trailer or just familiar from previous installments of the Madagascar series.
Its fun to visit them again and inevitable that the Penguins received their own film here, with the often teased Private receiving the centre of the attention as to how he fits within the group. Just if anything it would have been nice for the film to have a little more of that Disney/Pixar heart to it to make it more memorable.
That being said, passable escapist romp.
