Ridiculous but also incredibly fun, Penguins of Madagascar improves on the mediocre franchise that it came out of. Skipper and the gang were easily the stand-outs of the Madagascar movies and shine in their solo effort.

The voice cast of the film is solid and the animation is energetic. The film is full of great spy parodies, fantastic actor name puns, idiotic wit and solid slapstick too. Most of all it's just a whole lot of fun with very fun characters and a sense of thrilling adventure which often gets forgotten in the self-seriousness of the world today.
