Review of Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) by Elizabeth L — 10 Apr 2008
From the outside the plot is just laughable, for some reason it really works. Definitely one my favorite Kathleen Turner roles, she is just wonderful. A amazing ensemble of character actors ranging from Joan Allen to Kevin J. O'Connor (who was recently very good in There Will Be Blood) to Jim Carrey round out a solid, entertaining, and humorous film.
Nicolas Cage's performance is an aquired taste...but I'm a Nicolas Cage fan. A fair warning though.
The only little nitpick piece of this movie, that no matter how much I suspended reality I could not get my head around was how unbelievable it is that Helen Hunt could be Nic Cage's daughter. I know, I know, it's movie, I should just accept it but.. He's younger than her! Sorry, just a thing.
