Review of Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) by Nelson P — 14 Jul 2010
An extremely underrated/overlooked Francis Ford Coppola movie. One of the better time travel/body switching movies. It's funny and has that "something" we can all relate to factor throughout the movie.
Who wouldn't love to go back and change things when they were in high school? It's also sad in way, because she doesn't really change anything, and goes and faces the future she knows, only with a better outlook on life.
It has a lot of great performances from Sofia Coppola and especially Nicolas Cage who acts like a demented Buddy Holly. His character was extremely strange even for Nicolas Cage, I don't know if it was intentional or not but the part where he almost put the pillow over Kathleen Turners face really freaked me out.
His classic moment was when he was eating Rice Crispy bars and was kind of gagging whilst eating them.
