Modern art is an acquired taste. Luckily, Miss Guggenheim did acquire a robust taste. She presented, sponsored and saved much art for herself and for us too. The woman behind the art was as complex and multilayered as her possessions.
I do not claim to understand modern art, but I can appreciate its existence and appreciate how Miss Guggenheim preserved it for us.
