Review of Peepli Live (2010) by Ramya K — 26 Aug 2010
A delightful satire on every aspect of contemporary Indian (rural and urban) life through the central theme of a farmer. A product of some of the best minds in Indian cinema, every frame is a treat to watch.
The film successfully manages to heartily laugh at everything - the media, politics, bureaucracy, and the general hypocrisy of Indian society and it manages to do so without offence. The thoughtful message lingers long after the movie, reminding us that we make good movies after all.
