Peepli live is a clever & thought-provoking dark comedy. Anusha's direction and the overall editing is among the best I've seen from Bollywood; it doesn't bring anything new to the table but there are simply no weaknesses that stand out.
Moreover, the movie's biggest strength is the well-written script, which infused some fantastic subtle comedy in a dire subject-matter, and fantastic cast; everyone feels so authentic for their respective roles whereas a typical Indian movie would have picked a big name whether he/she looked fit for the role or not (H. Roshan in Jodha Akbar was a joke).
Overall, Peepli is a rare Bollywood gem.
