Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Tomek S — 06 Dec 2009
Although "Psycho" is the far more famous serial killer film of 1960, this one, in some ways, is a tad more fucked up. A psychologically damaged young man (Carl Boehm - who reminds me a bit of Peter Lorre) films girls as he kills them with a sharp blade at the end of the camera.
Despite being tame on gore, it still holds up very well today and pretty much deserves to be ranked along with "Psycho" as a groundbreaking serial killer horror film. Along with the great cinematography, director Michael Powell also sprinkles some good doses of humor.
