Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Kenneth B — 28 Apr 2012
It's remarkable that this came out the same year as Psycho, there is such a similarity in tone between the two films. Peeping Tom may not be quite on the same level as Hitchcock's masterpiece but it may well be its equal in terms of influence.
It's a film that pushed boundaries, I cant say that I have seen an earlier film (particularly British) that contained nudity and strong language (albeit only briefly in both cases) or that actually places the audience in the killers shoes.
I can see why it caused a stir in 1960.
