Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Geoff R — 19 Apr 2009
I just love this movie, but there's one thing that has always puzzled me. The protagonist, clean-cut psycho Mark Lewis has an Anglo name, and, as the story goes, was born and raised in London. His father, we learn through flashbacks, has a beautiful, cultured English accent. One could therefore assume that Mark would be as Anglo as they come. So how come he has a German accent? Yes, of course it's because the actor playing him is Austrian-born Carl Boehm! But seriously, did the producers really think no-one would notice this glaring anomaly?.
