Review of Peeping Tom (1960) by Trevor C — 03 May 2011
You'd think this movie would have aged through time and become something lame, but no, it still remains very suspenseful and thrilling, and from the eye of a first time viewer, you may keep guessing who's next. The whole time we know who the killer is, and pretty early on we know why he does it, but what we don't know are his ultimate intentions or exactly when or who he will kill next. We follow him, and he is very intriguing and it is hard to lose interest for a second in this well made thriller - which is, arguably (and according the Scream 4) the first film about a psychopathic, murdering stalker. The colors and camera angles used in the cinematography are just bizarre as hell and kept making me feel uneasy in nearly every frame. It also has this sort of style where we know what exactly everyone is going through, just by the music -and, of course, with the performances of the film's cast.
For film fanatics and lovers of the horror genre, this is a film you absolutely must see.
