It's unfortunate that Burton's bad movies outweigh his good ones, however he's got some undeniably great talent. When he is doing his wacky and zany stuff, he's in that sweet spot. Not his gothic/emo crap (though TNBC and Sweeney were great).
This is one stellar debut!
