Review of Pearl Harbor (2001) by Jeroen V — 31 Oct 2013
It's got Kate Beckinsale in it, I'm sold. Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor is a stunner. The chaos and scale of the Harbor attack is monumental and I was in awe at all the action, the attack is forty minutes of dramatic chaos, with Michael Bay's signature style labelled all over it.
Some people have said that the love and dramatic elements of Pearl Harbor are cheesy, yet I didn't find that. It wasn't cheesy or boring at all, I enjoyed it. Superbly acted by an exceptional cast who all take part in the drama and the mind blowing action.
Filled with amazing cinematography that lasts throughout the movie, Bay knows how to keep you glued to the screen whether it's the dramatic camera shots or giant explosions. Critics moan about Bay who just focuses on crash and bangs instead of characters and script, yet he has created a great balance between love, drama and war.
