Review of Peacock (2005) by Sanjid P — 22 Apr 2010
Peacock is a psychological horror film, but the body-count is only at "1," and there is virtually no animated gore involved, just a simple bludgeoning.
The horror lies in the main character's cross-dressing lifestyle.
At first, the viewer may be a bit puzzled; is this person an autogynephile, a transvestite, or something else?
This Hitchcockian thriller delves deep into the strange world of Multiple Personality Disorder; today, better known as Dissociative Identity Disorder.
What environmental factors led to this male person leading a split male/female life in the same house?
As the film unfolds, the viewer begins to catch glimpses of what psychological, emotional and sexual abuses and traumas may have led to the creation of "Emma.".
Peacock is delicious. Bravo!
