Review of Peacock (2005) by Aaron S — 01 Aug 2010
As a Hitchcock superfan, I am always intrigued at what a current filmmaker can do to come anywhere close to copying the style of a genius. Peacock, while not a masterpiece could easily squeeze into Hitchcock's later works of the late 60's and early 70's.
Cillian Murphy is one of the most underrated actors of modern cinema, and I don't know-maybe it's because he is super creepy. But that plays out very well here in this androgynous mystery. Kudos...and shame on those who don't appreciate the direction here.
