Review of Peacock (2005) by Sofia A — 14 Oct 2010
I wondered why I hadnt heard of this film before. Apart from it only being released on dvd recently, I found out that it is a straight to dvd release. I think i'm possibly one of the few world wide that has watched it so far.
This is a very good movie, but I suspected that it would be given the cast that chose to take on this project. It is a suspensful drama, and it is clearly influenced by Alfred Hitchcock's style, and I think specifically the film, Psycho.
The supporting cast is great, but the real stand out is Cillian Murphy, who is absolutely superb in 'both' roles. The cinematography is one of the first things that stood out for me in this movie, it is visually stunning.
Its also a very well paced, and strong film I felt. And its well written, with the lead character being very engaging. It's not a mainstream film, but that doesnt matter. Its a good movie.
