Review of Peaceful Warrior (2006) by N F — 20 Nov 2010
I think this movie was actually pretty good in its own right. Had I never read the book, I probably would have really enjoyed it. However, having just red the book, I was left scratching my head. It was like someone had read about half the book, ran with one thread of the storyline, and totally missed the point.
It's still an inspirational movie, but nothing like the book. And not even in the same way. The cast was wonderful. Nick Nolte captured Socrates wonderfully. I was happy with Scott Mechlowicz as well as the protagonist, Dan.
I would like to see them film it again, but actually base it on the book. ;) (11-18-10).
