Review of Peaceful Warrior (2006) by Mike H — 06 Jan 2008
This drama is about determination and of learning the lessons of humility. The main character is a bold alpha-male jock type, quite reckless and with almost complete disregard to everyone and everything around him. Very self centered.
Slowly, he learns the hard way how his highly competitive and reckless lifestyle is creating exactly the type of life which he seems to fear the most.
He meets a man played by Nick Nolte whom has a certain mysticism about him, who begins to teach him some valuable life lessons in a sort of not quite Karate Kid type of way of experiential learning.
The moral of the story and other messages contained within the movie are valuable life lessons.
I very much dislike the highly competitive self centered type of people the main character is portraying in this film and wanted to smack him with a clue bat many times. Nonetheless the roles were played well, and the movie's central message was delivered rather well.
