Review of Peaceful Warrior (2006) by Katie L — 06 Aug 2008
If Brad Pitt and Tom Cavanaugh had a love child, it is Scott Mechlowicz. I was expecting more from him (did you see Mean Creek?!), but he did all right. The story was interesting enough, mostly b/c it's "inspired by true events".
While Mechlowicz's acting left something to be desired, me managed to make male gymnastics a very, very masculine sport. Nolte's character (and Nolte) was weird... and just how long is Amy Smart going to play college girls? It's been, what, over 5 years since Road Trip - play some freakin' grownups already.
The themes in this film were good/inspiring. Bring on the Summer Olympics...
