Review of Paycheck (2003) by Kevin T — 06 Aug 2010
The weakest Philip K. Dick film adaptation. The story is gold, the action is good (John Woo)... lots of cool ideas but there are so many moments of weak believability. Most of the movie actually. It feels like it was done in the 90s and if it had been, it would've been more respectable. Instead, it is a disappointment, because it could have been one of the greats.
What you get is a cool story .. in a cliche Hollywood type fashion. All-in-all it's a good movie on paper but the movie-making didn't pan out. A remake of this would be actually good. (But they'll probably continue making remakes of movies that don't need it.).
