Review of Paycheck (2003) by Steven Y — 01 Apr 2009
Some the characters' behaviors in this movie make you seriously question its credibility. For example, after meeting the love of his life, having forgotten the three years he spent with her, Michael doesn't even blink.
Not one emotion shows at the surface. When they both go back, and Rethrick waits for them to fix the machine, there's no good explanation why Michael actually does that. Being so smart and intuitive throughout the movie, he doesn't realize Rethrick's scheme? I would ask for at least a minimum of ambivalence in this matter, having to fix it in order to escape, while trying at least to try and prevent the destruction of the world.
