Review of Pawn Sacrifice (2015) by Stephen D — 26 Sep 2015
For those who already know Bobby Fischer's story this movie will add nothing new, but it's very interesting and deserved to be portrayed on the big screen (Searching for Bobby Fischer had nothing to do with him).
Tobey Maguire is ideal for Fischer's part, and Peter Sarsgaard's portrayal of (Catholic priest and Fischer aide) William Lombardy's character is inspired and essential. Bonus points for making an interesting movie about chess, which is always hard to do.
