Review of Pauline et François (2010) by Lucia B — 18 Jan 2012

This is a rather leisurely paced and somewhat sad drama, and while I appreciated the depictions of family dynamics and I thought the acting was good, the story was in some ways rather slight. The confluence of events in the movie--the aging father, the arrival of Pauline, and the family money problems--didn't really add up to much until the last ten minutes or so of the movie.

The male love interest was almost too good-natured and earnest for his own good. Not a bad film, but not one I would go out of my way to recommend.
