Review of Paul (2011) by Thilina M — 03 Aug 2012
Chock full of great cultural references (mainly sci-fi) and humor that's both raunchy and smart, Paul is a great comedy that wil bring the sci-fi geek out in all of us. Paul stars British comedy duo Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) as they visit America so that they can visit Comic Con and all the UFO hot spots.
After they arrive at the Black Mailbox, they notice a car crashing into a ditch. What they find is a cursing, pot smoking alien named Paul (played by Simon Pegg). Soon, the three are on the run from the government as they try to get Paul back home.
The performances are great in this movie. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg have great chemistry together and Seth Rogen is hysterical as Paul. Kristen Wiig also stars in this film as Simon Pegg's love interest.
When the audience learns about how truthful she is to her Christian faith and when she meets Paul had me busting my gut laughing! Watch this film if you can! A great sci-fi comedy that will touch everyone that watches it.
