Review of Paul (2011) by Jose M — 14 Aug 2012
If only the rest of the movie could be as funny as the final fifteen minutes, this movie could have been great. Those final minutes had everything the first hour or so lacked. Cleverness, surprises, a diversity in the types of jokes that were used.
The first part of the movie had...cursing (And some great Sci-Fi references, which I did love). Now, while I am a prude, I do feel cursing can be very funny (for instance, see "Catch Me If You Can"'s use of the F-Word), but I don't know how many times I've said it, cursing can be in a joke, but cursing is not a joke, and that seems to be a common theme in some recent comedies I've seen recently.
Some might also be turned off by it's anti-Christian message, but I was not because it was ultimately only a small part of the movie. Of course, it would have been even easier to swallow if the movie was funnier.
