Review of Paul (2011) by Peter N — 01 Oct 2012
It has some incredibly funny moments and comes across as far superior to most comedies. However, when comparing it to the comedic gems that Pegg and Frost have released in the past, it seems like they more or less phoned this one in.
It's good qualities are apparent, though, and the ability to make a CGI character this endearing takes some mad skills, especially from voice Seth Rogen. I also enjoyed the nostalgic take on more than a few sci-fi classics.
Some of the gags are lacking and it gets a little too crude at times, but Paul is a light-hearted, above-average comedy.
