Review of Patton (1970) by Brett B — 27 Aug 2009
An incredibly powerful dramatization of one of WWII's most dynamic participants. George C. Scott gives a bravura performance; his Patton is a thoroughly fascinating character. Malden provides a nice, more subdued counterbalance to Scott as Gen.
Bradley. The film is impeccably directed, Jerry Goldsmith's musical score is very memorable, and the screenplay by Coppola and North is quite thoughtful and literate. An excellent motion picture.
