Great, great war movie and character study. Brilliant acting by George C. Scott. Karl Malden is excellent as well. Thankfully, this movie was made back in 1970, so it didn't suffer the indignity of being "dumbed down" to a 90 minute runtime to suit the short-attention spans of illiterate moviegoers.
