It's a well made film and Scott's brilliant but it's a little too messianic for my tastes - Patton was clearly a great strategist as history would attest but no one can stand with a pistol in front of an oncoming fighter plane and have 3 bullets land between his legs.
It also has about 30 minutes of needless footage.
