Review of Patton (1970) by Aaron V — 25 Jul 2008
Patton was an anachronism in his time, but this film is far from dated. Wonderfully acted by George C. Scott whose interpretation of Patton is how later generations will remember the old General. This is much more than a WWII movie and conveys the war through the eyes of one man who could not be more giddy at the thought of battle.
My greatest connection with this film is through my grandfather who served under Patton during the war; he could hardly draw any distinction between the man he saw on the screen and the man under whom he had served.
