Liberals should say it's too sympathetic. Conservatives should say it's too satirical. But no, Patton is a clear picture of a complicated guy, a military genius who is also a nutso prima donna.
The only movie I can think of comparing it to is Lawrence of Arabia, even though it doesn't have the desert to hang its aesthetical hat on. Don't miss it.
