A brilliant character study of a man for whom war wasn't just "something" it was the only thing. Brilliantly acted by all. Some of the casting was also remarkable insofar as Karl Malden was a dead ringer for Gen.
Omar Bradley and Michael Bates, the British actor who played Field Marshal Sir Bernard Law Montgomery could have been his identical twin brother. Well deserving of the 7 Academy Awards it won.
