Review of Patton (1970) by Lynda M — 10 Apr 2009
As a character study its a joy to watch, with Scott at his best. The problem with the message however is hypocritical. Is Patton a war mongrol, a roman general from a previous life, or is he just a completely nut case who has no morals, just a man born to fight.
It is excellently made, yet it does gives the impression that Patton was a hero of sorts, yet it is never questioned more left to your own perception of what sort of man he was.
