Review of Patton (1970) by Mike N — 04 Oct 2009
Watched the newest 2-disc DVD of Patton over the weekend, and that is a movie I have to watch at least once a year, it is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. The Coppola commentary however wasn't too good, since he wasn't even there on the set.
But he did win an Oscar for the screenplay. The main additions to this great DVD set, is the documentaries on Patton, and the men under his command, especially during the Battle of the Bulge. Over two hours of extras on the second disc, make this a sure fire double dip if you have the movie all ready.
One of the best war films of all time without doubt, and George C. Scott's performance is acting brilliance.
